LONOKE County, AR – Police say a farm worker died after falling into a grain bin around 11:00 am Friday.

According to a release, officials from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting that a man had fallen into a grain silo at Parker’s Farms, located on Miller Road in Lonoke. Witnesses say the victim, later identified of 56-year-old Jacques Parker of Carlisle, was on top of what farmers refer to as “The Bridge,” which is a dome of grain above an empty space. Parker was trying to knock down the bridge when it collapsed and sucked him into the grain.

Parker, who farmed several thousand of acres with his three brothers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
