SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands — Charges have been filed against a man accused of threatening to kill an advocate for migrant workers in the Northern Mariana Islands.
Joaquin Tenorio was charged with assault, battery and disturbing the peace.
United Workers Movement leader Rabby Fazle Syed says Tenorio called him threating to kill him and his family.
Syed says Tenorio threatened to chop off his hands and head.
Syed reported the call to the FBI and authorities traced it to Tenorio.
The 14-island chain hosts more than 16,000 migrant workers, mostly from the Philippines and China.
